St. Patrick’s Day Tips

St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner and while having red hair doesn’t necessarily qualify me as a St. Paddy’s Day expert, it can’t hurt either way! Having a plan for the week surrounding the holiday can be the difference between being beaten by the rest and finding your pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Follow these steps to make the most of St. Patrick’s Day

1. Beer is King

If Christmas has eggnog, St. Patrick’s Day has beer. Beer is the most popular drink on St. Patrick’s Day by far. Ireland hails some of the most well-known breweries so it makes sense that you highlight these beers specifically if you offer them.

Fun Tip: Dying beer green goes a long way to getting people in the festive spirit!

2. Celebrate Early

Sadly, this year St. Patty’s Day falls on a Tuesday but that doesn’t mean you should expect a light holiday turnout. Most bar crawls and holiday-themed events will be taking place the weekend before, March 13 – 15, this year so be sure to offer any holiday specials all weekend long to stretch the effective length of the holiday celebration.

3. Offer Irish-Themed Food Specials

While the holiday is seen as a big drinking holiday, St. Patrick’s Day can also be an opportunity to showcase some cuisine staples on the menu. Dishes such as Shepard’s Pie, Irish Stew, and Potato Pancakes are just some to mention, but the possibilities are endless depending on how creative you want to be for the day. Entice families to come in and dine by offering reduced prices or free meals for kids as well!

We hope that these tips help and we wish you much luck during the upcoming holiday. Sláinte!
